Police say homeless man is a suspect in his own beating
A St. Augustine man who was severely beaten and left unconscious at a homeless camp last week remains on life-support and in a coma. Two different versions emerged about what actually happened that night to Mark Moynihan, 45, a carpenter and house painter. No one yet knows which one is true. "It's surely a mess and we have to try and figure it out," said Sgt. Barry Fox of the St. Augustine police.
The responding police officer labeled the incident an aggravated battery with Moynihan listed as the suspect in his own beating.

Hi there
I'm doing a project on homelessness and I had a statistic that said something about one in five homeless were attacked in the year 2006(?), but I lost the source. I was wondering if you happened to have any idea off the top of your head where that may have come from? If you know, could you please email me at juliakmullins@AOL.com ?
Thanks!
