Project Homeless Connect cancelled
The Project Homeless Connect set for Friday at the Fairgrounds in Orlando has been cancelled.
The decision was made because of Tropical Storm Hanna.Hanna is expected to reach hurricane strength by Friday morning and is out in the Atlantic Ocean, moving in the general direction of Florida. While the latest forecasts don't call for landfall in Florida, Friday looks like a wet, nasty day -- not the time you want to bring hundreds of people
to an open-air pavilion.
The event will not be rescheduled.
The next events are:
■ IDignity (for people who need IDs), Thursday, September 25, at the Orlando Union Rescue MissionPlease consider helping by volunteering your time or making a donation.
■ Veterans' Stand Down, Saturday, September 27, at the Downtown Recreation Center on Livingston Street in Orlando
■ Project Homeless Connect, Friday, December 5, also at the Downtown Recreation Center
