It's sad that jail was his answer
A homeless man called 911 from a pay phone because he wanted to go to jail.When a Fort Walton Beach police officer said he didn't have a reason to take him to jail, the man said he had marijuana, pulled it out of his sock and dropped it on the back of the patrol car.
The 48-year-old man was charged with possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and -- yes -- taken to jail.
