Landlord has a duty to warn about child molester

A landlord has a duty to warn tenants of a child molester operating at an apartment complex, the 4th District Court of Appeal ruled this week.

The court reversed the summary judgment granted to the apartment complex by the circuit court in Broward County.

A mother and daughter sued the complex, known as Regal Trace, after the girl was sexually assaulted by another tenant. Less than three weeks earlier, the same man had sexually assaulted another girl at the complex.
