Newspaper blames YouTube
for homeless attacks

"Perhaps it was only a matter of time before the popularity of personal videos on the Internet led four teens to attack homeless people and film it for online viewing," says an editorial in the Los Angeles Daily News.

The newspaper was referring to an incident in which four teenage boys shot homeless men with pellet shots and tossed smoke bombs at them. They recorded the attacks on their cell phones' video cameras with the intent to air the videos on the Internet.

"If this is where the YouTube era has led society, then maybe this episode was where it jumped the shark."
