Is Orlando one of America’s dumbest big regions?

Orlando is the ninth worst metro area in the country in terms of its number of college graduates.

Only 26.6% of Orlando's residents have college degrees, says the U.S. Census Bureau.

That number barely beats out Detroit (26.3%) -- but it's better than Tampa's 24.6%.

On the flip side, Washington D.C. has the most college graduates, followed by San Francisco, San Jose (hub of Silicon Valley), Raleigh, Boston, Austin and Minneapolis.

Of course, salaries in those towns are also higher than the national average. That’s because a highly educated population is a key to growth and prosperity. Washington, D.C., for example, has the highest median household income of any metro area of more than 1 million residents.

IIRC, Huntsville, AL has the highest per capita rate of Ph.D.'s, for what that's worth.

P.S. ROLL TIDE!!!
