The high cost of poverty: Why the poor pay more
You have to be rich to be poor. That's what some people who have never lived below the poverty line don't understand.
Put it another way: The poorer you are, the more things cost. More in money, time, hassle, exhaustion, menace. This is a fact of life that reality television and magazines don't often explain.
The Washington Post explains it here. Consider this a primer on the economics of poverty.
And check out John Scalzi's wrenching blog post, Being Poor.

People's lives revolve around getting enough food to survive and finding shelter from the elements. The middle class on up has these things locked down, so they don't realize that they are so much 'richer' than the poor.
I was not sure how or where to post this, but if this law goes thru, you will alot more poor. We in South Dakota have some pretty greedy people, but not to the extent of what is talked about in the Huffington Post article of what FL is trying to do to the minimium wage for restaurant tipped employees. This sickened me because it is outright GREED and making the working poor into slave labor. I worked in the bar and restaurt business for years in my youth, never did I have health insurance. The article is: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/edward-wyckoff-williams/romney-santorum-and-gop-s_b_1338234.html?ref=politics I do not care what party you are affilated with, this is not right. Who will be the next target?????

Middle class families dont care what poor has to suffer, just because they are busy in their own. and upper class families dont want to be bothered about this.. Its a time when youngsters have to do something..we have to some out doing something exceptionsl
When you're told you only have to pay 30% of your income, they don't educate you about the two things you REALLY need to do:
A) create a budget of what you NEED to survive, and
B)actually take home 142% of that budget to ACTUALLY survive.
This is where claimed Continuum of Care plans fall short...they provide NO plan for the consumer, just the agency skimming off the government subsidizations.
