Trying to reason with hurricane season?

If you’re thinking that you ought to be getting ready for hurricane season, you might want to wait for the sales tax holiday that runs June 1 through 12.

Some of the items that will be tax-free include: flashlights, candles, batteries, coolers, ice chests, radios, tarpaulins and even portable generators. But there are dollar limits, and some other quirks: Why will AA batteries be tax-free, but not AAA? Why isn't plywood considered a hurricane preparedness purchase?
